How is the quality of rubber compounds ensured?
At our rubber O-ring manufacturing facility, the quality of rubber compounds is ensured through a stringent multi-stage quality control process aligned with international standards and AEO requirements.
Firstly, raw materials such as synthetic rubber, fillers, and additives are procured only from approved vendors who meet our predefined quality and compliance standards. Each batch of incoming material is subjected to Incoming Quality Inspection (IQC), where parameters such as tensile strength, elongation, specific gravity, and moisture content are tested. Material traceability is maintained through batch coding and documentation.
The compounding process is carried out in a controlled environment using calibrated mixing machines. We follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency in formulation and mixing cycles. In-process checks include Mooney viscosity tests, curing behavior analysis, and dispersion testing to ensure uniformity and compound integrity.
Post-compounding, samples are taken from each batch and tested in our in-house laboratory for mechanical properties such as hardness, compression set, and aging resistance, as per ASTM or ISO specifications. Test reports are maintained digitally and linked to respective production batches for traceability.
We follow a First-In-First-Out (FIFO) approach to compound usage and monitor storage conditions to prevent degradation. Non-conforming batches are quarantined, investigated, and disposed of as per documented procedures.
Additionally, we conduct periodic third-party testing and internal audits to validate our internal quality processes. Continuous training is provided to QA staff, and all instruments are periodically calibrated.
